Our Programmes
Three programmes that move together. They share the same teams, the same villages and the same conviction: you cannot protect a child for long without also working with the community around them.
Peace and social cohesion
Awareness, mediation and non-violence education with young people and communities.
We work with young people, in neighbourhoods and in schools, to build the habits that stop a disagreement from escalating: listening, dialogue, mediation. It is unspectacular work that resists measurement, and it is the work the association is named after.
Child protection
Schooling, supplies, warning against trafficking and exploitation, and steady support for vulnerable children.
We encourage children into school and help them stay there, we provide the materials that make it possible, and we warn against the dangers of trafficking and exploitation. For the most isolated children, turning up regularly matters as much as what we bring.
School Supplies Distribution
Exercise books, pens and bags, given at the start of term to families for whom those purchases are out of reach.
The start of the school year is expensive, and it is often where a child's schooling stops. We supply what makes attending possible: exercise books, pens, slates, bags. It is the most direct form of our work on schooling.
Community development
Backing villages and neighbourhoods in the projects they choose themselves.
A community with means of its own protects its children better. We support initiatives led by residents themselves, supplying what they lack rather than a plan designed elsewhere.
And Every December, Christmas
Our most visible activity is not a fourth programme. It is the moment in the year when all three meet, in the villages furthest out.
