Ethics and Anti-Corruption
What we refuse to do to obtain funding, a permit or an advantage, and what we require of our partners.

1. Zero tolerance
CAPP does not offer, promise, solicit or accept any improper payment, hidden commission or personal advantage in order to obtain a permit, a contract, funding or favourable treatment. This holds for committee members as much as for volunteers, and it holds when it costs the association.
2. Gifts and hospitality
A courtesy gift of small value may be accepted where refusing would give offence. Anything beyond that — a sum of money, something valuable, a personal service — is declined, and the refusal is explained. No gift is accepted while a decision concerning the person offering it is being considered.
3. Conflicts of interest
Anyone with a personal or family interest in a decision declares it and steps out of that decision. That covers choosing a supplier, awarding assistance and taking on a volunteer. Stepping out is not an admission: it is the rule.
4. Neutrality
The association is tied to no political party and no faith. Its name, its work and its images are not a platform for an election campaign or for proselytising. The help given depends neither on origin, nor religion, nor opinion.
5. What we expect of partners
A partner, supplier or funder working with CAPP commits to the same principles. We end a relationship where they are not respected, even when ending it costs us a resource.
6. Raising an alarm
A breach is reported in writing to the association's address, and may be reported anonymously. Nobody will face retaliation for a report made in good faith, including one concerning a committee member. What followed is communicated to whoever reported it, where they gave their name.
